One of the most interesting features about the new SIRTEF web site, is represented by the Technical Glossary. We thought at glossary, because in Internet about lifting business, there are not many smart references at the moment that contain useful technical information for professionals.
The SIRTEF Glossary contains infact over 20 generic items related to the lifting business and steel wire ropes, that explain briefly the meaning of acronyms, expressions, or technical terms maybe not well-known and that you can often meet in the lifting companies web sites or in orders and sales offers.
In the other cases they are particular concepts, relating to special applications or projects with a strong innovative component, where the level of knowledge is not yet widespread in a broad way.
We recently upgraded it with adding new items such as fleet angle and winding pitch and we’re going to improve it with other contents that will make this resource more extensive and qualified.
